Hotel Shediac Case Study
Nestled in the heart of downtown Shediac, Lobster Capital of the World, the newly-constructed Hôtel Shediac is a full service 4.5 star 60 room hotel. Designed with a contemporary flair, it is also inspired by the architectural concept of the iconic Shediac Inn built in 1853, now demolished. In its heyday, the inn accommodated thousands of guests from around the world, including many dignitaries, members of the royalty and celebrities.
The construction of Hôtel Shediac has been a highly anticipated project since the demolition of the old Shediac hotel over 7 years ago. With an overall budget of several million dollars it was very important to choose the right products, materials and price point for this project. On top of that strict deadline and project scheduling were critical factors to consider during product selection.
CGC Securock® Glass-Mat Sheathing was selected by the General Contractor because it was well priced and readily available. Once installers started working with CGC Securock® Glass-Mat Sheathing they quickly noticed a reduction in waste, improved ease of use, increased efficiency as the panels could be placed in either direction and less skin irritation due to the tighter glass-mat facer.
