Joint Treatment

Joint Treatment

System Continuity Is Key

Joint Treatment

Proper treatment of panel joints and control/expansion joints is a key component in creating a building’s monolithic air and water barrier. Panel joints are to be detailed using Tremco Dymonic® 100 in green. There are two options to detail control/expansion joints, both resulting in the same performance. The first option is to use Tremco Spectrem® 1 in purple along with Proglaze® ETA Connections.  The second option is to use Dymonic 100 in green and brake metal.

Securock® ExoAir® 430 System Components:
Dymonic 100

Dymonic 100 is a high-performance, medium-modulus, low-VOC, UV-stable, non-sag polyurethane sealant that can be used for detailing fasteners, board joints, around penetrations, as angle beads in transition areas, in control/expansion joints with break metal, for terminating ExoAir® Foil Flashing, and under all the Vulkem Coating Systems and TREMproof® waterproofing membranes.

Spectrem 1

Spectrem 1 is an ultra-low modulus, high-performance, one-part moisture curing silicone joint sealant that is used to adhere Proglaze ETA Connections to the Securock ExoAir 430 Panel. Spectrem 1 should never be used underneath any membrane or sealant unless adhesion has been verified.

Proglaze ETA Connections

Proglaze ETA Connections is a pre-engineered silicone material used as a transition membrane for expansion joints between the Securock ExoAir 430 Panels. It is comprised of a flat singled ribbed silicone extrusion that is adhered to the panel with Spectrem 1 silicone sealant.

TREMGrip® (in-plant panelized applications only)

TREMGrip is a one component, non-sag, elastic sealant based on hybrid polymers best suited for in-plant applications on Securock ExoAir 430. The sealant has a quick tack allowing for rapid installation.
